Those present commemorated the tragic act of violence that occurred at the court in 1999, when, during divorce proceedings, Judge Ljiljana Hvalec, Attorney-at-Law Hajra Prohić, and party to the proceedings Gordana Oraškić were killed, and court clerk Stanka Cvetković was seriously injured. Justice Jalšovečki; Petra Kušević Fraculj, President of the Zagreb Municipal Civil Court; Đuro Sessa, Supreme Court Justice and President of the International Association of Judges as well as Damir Habijan, Minister of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation addressed the gathering. A moment of silence was observed in honour of the tragic victims. The speakers emphasized that, there has been progress in the legislative and institutional framework for the protection of women against violence over the past 26 years. However, they noted that society and stakeholders must continue to contribute to the education, prevention and sanctioning of violence against women.
